This is a PHS documented REAL DEAL “high option” ‘67 Firebird 400 convertible that came from the factory in what many people consider to be the ultimate color combination.

Rare  

Simply put, this car as built (with the above options), was rare when NEW in 1967 and almost impossible to find today.  Unfortunately, there are no records that tell us the number that may have been built “exactly” like this car, but my guess (as a seasoned Firebird 400 convertible collector) is that you could count them on one hand.  
 

Mega dollar build ($$$$$)  

Simply stunning with the WOW factor ! 

This was a full-blown nut & bolt ROTISSIRIE restoration. 

Restorations at this level cost a small fortune in cold hard cash, time and talent. 

This car was built with a healthy budget and the results are truly impressive. It appears that every component on this car has been replaced, restored, or otherwise improved to a show quality level. It received show quality detailing under the hood, in the trunk and underneath the car. The undercarriage can be shown with mirrors it is so nice.  

I am told this was has only been driven a few hundred miles but since that exact mileage is unknown and of course does not tie to the odometer I have listed it on eBay as having 1,000 miles. Like all vehicles this age, it will be sold as mileage exempt. 
 

Original sheet metal car  

All the sheet metal on this car appears to be original including the quarter panels, floors and trunk pan (I got inside the trunk with a flashlight to examined the inner QTR’s they are original and amazingly nice). It is virtually impossible to find a 44 year old convertible with an original body this nice. No patch panels or Chinese reproduction junk. This alone separates this car from the vast majority. 

The glass and back window are all crystal clear. The windows mate with each other and nest properly into the convertible top.  
 

Paint & Body  / STUNNING !! 

Treated to a brilliant “high dollar paint job” in the factory original color. This car will STAND OUT any where you take it.  

The body was blocked to perfection and is laser straight with excellent fit and finish. The paint has that DEEP wet “highly reflective look” that only comes with the best of paint jobs. You can read a book in this paint. 

While the paint on this car is as nice as “a man” can make it, there are always a few very minor flaws that can be found under super critical inspection - but I can confidently say that there is nothing that detracts from the total WOW factor this car presents – it is stunning! 

To complement the paint, all the bright work (chrome & stainless) was replaced with new and/or restored.  
 

Mechanical 

In one word, excellent!  Everything mechanical on this car is new or refurbished to new and kept “vintage correct”. This car is like going to your Pontiac show room in 1967 …. actually better …. Pontiac did not put paint jobs this nice on their cars and they certainly didn’t finish them underneath this nice.

The motor is not overbuilt (NO shaking from an oversized cam, NO running hot, NO bad habits of any kind). It is actually mild mannered and very nice to simply cruise in. It has ample “on demand” power, steers with the palm of one hand and stops with confidence. The motor is a vintage code “YT” Firebird motor built to “factory 400” specs, but it is not the vin numbers matching exact motor that came in the car.  In fact, Pontiac did not put vin numbers on Firebird motors until sometime in1968.   
 

Value / Price  

Firebird 400 convertibles in this condition with these options finished in this color combination RARELY come up for sale.

In my 20 years of buying, restoring, and selling Firebird 400 convertibles I have never seen its equal in terms of the wow factor.  

Everyone knows it costs serious money to bring a car to this level. If you are quality oriented like me, you will see the value.  

“Quality” always costs more for a reason (usually many reasons) and “seasoned car folks” know that there is a BIG difference between quality and the vast majority of what you see here on eBay.  This is not the kind of car that you pass on to wait for the next one.  

I price my cars realistically and every car I have ever listed has sold. Please note that many of my cars sell before the expiration of my listing. Even though you may not see evidence of offers being made, rest assured, I am constantly having dialogue with interested parties locally and around the world.
